Fashola Appoints Four New Judges


The Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), has approved the appointment of four new judges for the state High Court. A statement signed by the Lagos High Court Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Grace Alo, stated that the newly appointed judges, who include the current Lagos High Court Registrar, Mrs. Iyabo Olamide Akinkugbe, Mrs. Serifat Iyabode Sonaike, Mr. Abdulfattah Molawale Lawal and Mr. Abisoye Jubril Nashua, would be sworn in by the governor on Friday at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja. According to the statement, Fashola’s approval was sequel to the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC) under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Aloma Mukhtar. The new appointment brings the number of judges in the Lagos State Judiciary to 60.
